    4 out of 5 stars Nice for a start   August 11, 2010

2 out of 5 stars SteelSeries disappoints once again   August 9, 2010
    Pros:

    -Anti ghosting
    -Keysets
    -All the keys are labeled
    -Useful windows/explorer keys
    -Good deal compared to others

    Cons:

    -Keyboard feels cheap
-Bent the contact pins while trying to put in a new keyset (the standard keyset fits better than the fps keyset)
    -Not backlit
-Software is not the best, razer and logitech have much better

Eventhough this is supposed to be a gaming keyboard, I didn't feel much game in it. Keys are stiff, and they're full size keys instead of the lower profile ones that you see on razer keyboards. When I purchased this, I didn't know that steel series made the zboard, but once I got it the mail and played with it, it was just like any other steel series product...a cheap consumer product, made to look like gaming gear. Having had experience with SteelSeries before, I would not recommend their products.

I love the Idea of the Zboard BUT for someone who Has Played alot of competative games I would sugjest the Merc Stealth as I now have or the Z MERC witch My friends all have now that they have used mine. There are a few issues with them still but the best ones I have found Yet for Gamming

1 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS!   January 10, 2010

This is a great design for a gaming keyboard; however, the drivers are horrible. If you are running any windows or Linux system, do not buy this keyboard. The drivers are so awful that you will end up with a very expensive standard keyboard without the promised gaming functions. In addition to the lousy drivers, the steelseries company [...] that now owns this product offers lousy to nonexistent support. I am ashamed of Amazon for still selling this product on its website. A class action lawsuit website is all you should see when you search for this item. Please do not waste you money as I did on this.

1 out of 5 stars Absolute Garbage   October 30, 2009

There are many things wrong with this keyboard, in the first that it's a novel concept, and was directed to be a 'keyboard' marketed towards gamers. I fell for the advertising and spent the first few hours messing with the various configurations and being in awe of the keymapping, but in the end you are still left with a very sub-par product - a rubber dome based keyboard, with folding gimmick top half.

It would constantly disconnect from the computer, the drivers had to be reinstalled for it to respond again, it didn't exactly 'work' during bootup other, which forced me to fetch an older keyboard and use that to install Windows..

Overall a very shoddy product. If you want a solid gaming keyboard for your money that won't die on you every 15 minutes after two days of ownership, strongly consider a Das Keyboard. It's what I'm writing this review on right now, and I've owned it for more than a year, a long time after I've thrown away the worthless Zboard as well.
