Pretty horrible mouse pad March 8, 2010 I ordered one of these thinking it would be ok after talking to a few people. It arrived and I put it down and put the mouse on it. I started on the control side first and started playing some games. It was very choppy with the Lachesis I had and swapped the sides to the speed side. It worked just a little bit better but was still functioning horribly. I am currently still using it with a CM Storm Sentinel Mouse (Dumped the horrible Lachesis) and it is still choppy moving around and am awaiting my new mouse pad. This thing is eating the bottom of my mouse as well.
I do not recommend this mouse pad to anyone and am disappointed with my purchase. I cannot wait to throw this thing out the window when my new pad comes. Razer needs to step it up with their items for the price they demand. I have bought a few Razer products over the years and not a one is still in use with me and most are sitting collecting dust for products that are much cheaper but perform twice as good.
One pad to rule them all February 11, 2010 Been using this pad for 5 years on both MMORPG's and FPS's. I've tried several good pads and various mice. This is by far the most consistent and best surfaced pad I've ever used. Most pads wear out and change their consistency, and this wears little. The plate appears to be aluminum and is completely stiff, no wrinkles no bending. Sooner or later you are going to make many turns in one direction in the middle of battle, and the large pad size can allow you to not have to recenter your mouse so quickly. For that extra kill you might have missed otherwise. This is just a piece of the puzzle, in order to be the best.
Someone said their laser mouse jitters on the Xspeed side of the mat. Simply not true or an isolated circumstance. I only use laser mice on the Xspeed side and would throw this out if I didnt have pixel precision control. If you are looking for other great weapons, I recommend the Wolfking and Razor Deathadder(most Razor mice are similar, I'm hooked on them).
Perfect for Gaming February 8, 2010 Pros: There's two sides -- one for control and one for speed. There's a wrist pad that comes with it, which is great. The control side goes hand-in-hand with my Razer Diamondback mouse. I've used the Destructor pad previously and definitely prefer the eXactMat over it. The size is of no concern because bigger is better. The mouse pad on the control side is perfect for a laser mouse and precision gaming.
Cons: Kind of nit-picking here. I've looked past them, but they might be a huge deal to others. The speed side is useless. It's like having your mouse on just the desk itself because the cursor jitters a lot. The control side is amazing for gaming but gets dirty real easy and can interfere with the accuracy of your mouse. Only two flaws, but nothing that will drive you nuts to make you want to return it.
i love my razer gaming stuff February 2, 2010 no problems with running out of mouse pad, need relief from wrist fatigue, or control of mouse action, i love this exactmat combo
Great mousepad! February 1, 2010 I had to upgrade my mousepad to match my new g9x (wired laser mouse), and there are alot of options to choose from. I wasn't to sure on what to look for in a mousepad. But I was looking for a mousepad with a smooth/rough side and a durable one. I checked out quite a few of the mousepads here at amazon and got a few friends opinion on the mousepads I was interested in. So yeah I decided to give this pad a try.
So far so good, works great with my logitech mouse laser g9x (wired laser mouse), reads it well and registers. never had a problem with this combo yet. I use the smooth side the most.. for shooting games and for daily tasks. The rough side works well for precision but I can get as good precision with the smooth side as well. It comes with a rubber like wrist rest, which also keeps the mousepad in place. The wrist rest is like gel and is comfortable. It is metal which makes it loud if you drop it but seems to be durable for now. This mouse pad has plenty of room to work with compared to a standard size pad.
pros- great registry with g9x, plenty of space to work with, durable, both sides work great for its purpose (rough/smooth), comfortable wrist rest/useful to keep mouse pad in place( but not needed, optional), nice style.
cons- a little to big for my desk, misjudge the mousepad size... but not really a con since it gives me alot of mouse space.
Overall a great mousepad from my experience, if you plan on buying this mouse pad make sure your desk/area is big enough for it by checking the specs size/add a few extra inches to it if you want to use the wrist rest. A pretty good price for a great product.
